The lift is out of service awaiting repair. Until it is repaired, the museum and community space on the first floor can only be reached by stairs. We will update this page as soon as the lift is back in service.

Starting a group

If you run a group or would like to start one, the community space can be used for regular meetings. TODO: how to apply, what the space includes, and any charges or concessions.

Volunteering

The Freight House is run by volunteers. There are roles for people with all kinds of skills and time to give, including:

  • welcoming visitors and stewarding events
  • helping with the museum
  • maintenance and gardening
  • publicity, this website and social media
  • fundraising and administration
